La conocida pareja de baile formada por los artistas Fred Astaire y Ginger Rogers, inspiró al prestigioso arquitecto Frank O. Gehry para diseñar un edificio sobrecogedor que se encuentra localizado a orillas del Río Moldava en la preciosa ciudad europea de Praga. El nombre oficial del edificio es "Nationale-Nederlanden Building" en honor a su Promotor, la Compañía del Grupo Internacional ING. Al famoso edificio se le conoce mundialmente también con el sobrenombre de "The Dancing House", o "La Casa Danzante ", en homenaje a esta famosa pareja de baile. Esta pareja de artistas queda representada en las dos torres del bellísimo edificio que forman una esquina, y que realmente parecen evocar a la famosa pareja de baile desde cualquier punto de vista desde el que se mire a lo largo del río. El majestuoso edificio se erige espléndido muy próximo al Teatro Nacional; también muy cerca del famoso Puente de Carlos IV y de otros centros culturales importantes. El edificio se construyó en uno de los tres únicos emplazamientos de posible construcción en la ciudad de Praga, también en un distrito de carácter histórico y formando esquina entre dos calles junto a una plaza.
Lo más destacado de este interesante proyecto es sin duda la majestuosa fachada con sus dos torres que forman esquina y que se presentan como los elementos más destacados y visibles del edificio evocando claramente a la famosa pareja de baile Ginger y Fred. La torre más próxima al río se erige como un volúmen cilíndrico macizo de hormigón armado con numerosas ventanas salientes escalonadas que alojan en su interior las oficinas. Mientras, la otra torre de vidrio, la que se sitúa frente a una pequeña plaza, consiste en una figura de cristal cónica de doble pared formada por un sistema de muro cortina; ambas torres, que se apoyan en diferentes pórticos de curiosas columnas, dan cabida a diversas salas de reuniones y conferencias. La fachada mayor del edificio, la que se encuentra frente al Río Moldava, está construida mediante paneles prefabricados de hormigón con un acabado en yeso característico de la arquitectura local; esta fachada cuenta con diferentes formas ondulantes que rompen el dibujo de las ventanas escalonadas.
El edificio acoge las oficinas del Banco desde la planta segunda hasta la séptima. Ambas fachadas se apoyan en varios pórticos mediante columnas de diversas formas creando una pequeña plaza cubierta que protege el acceso al edificio; varios locales comerciales con acceso desde la propia avenida y una cafatería se sitúan a nivel de calle y en otro nivel bajo rasante. Un restaurante mirador corona el edificio en la planta número ocho, que cuenta con una amplia terraza para aprovechar las maravillosas vistas que existen a lo largo del río en la ciudad de Praga y desde donde se puede divisar también el famoso Castillo. El diseño de este majestuoso y único edificio, sólo podía ser ideado por un artista sin igual, el arquitecto americano de origen canadiense Frank O. Gehry, que ha sido calificado recientemente como "El mejor Arquitecto de nuestra Era" y que fue galardonado con el prestigioso Premio Pritzker ( Novel de la Arquitectura ) en 1989.

The famous dancing couple formed by artists Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, inspired by renowned architect Frank O. Gehry to design a breathtaking building that is located on the banks of the Vltava River in the beautiful European city of Prague. The building's official name is "Nationale-Nederlanden Building" in honor of its sponsor, the ING Group Company International. The famous building is also world-known by the nickname of "The Dancing House", in homage to this famous dance partner. This pair of artists is represented in the two towers of the beautiful building that form a corner, and they really seem to evoke the famous dance partner from any point of view from which it is seen along the River. The majestic splendid building was erected close to the National Theatre, also near the famous Charles IV Bridge and other important cultural centers. The building was built in one of only three sites for possible construction in the city of Prague, also in a historical district and on the corner of two streets near the square.
The highlight of this exciting project is undoubtedly the majestic facade with its two corner towers are presented as the most prominent and visible building clearly evoking the famous dance partner Ginger and Fred. The tower is the river stands as a solid cylindrical volume of reinforced concrete with numerous bay windows hosting stepped inside the office. Meanwhile, the other tower of glass, which is situated opposite a small square, consists of a set of glass double-walled cone formed by a curtain wall system, both towers, which are based on different frames of odd columns are accommodate various meeting and conference rooms. The higher the building facade, which faces the Vltava River, is built using precast concrete panels with a plaster finish characteristic of local architecture, the front has a different undulating forms that break the pattern of stepped windows.
The building houses the offices of the Bank since the second to the seventh floor. Both fronts are based on several porches with columns in various forms by a small square cover that protects access to the building and several business premises with access from the avenue itself and cafatería are located at street level and another level below grade. A lookout restaurant crowning the building in the plant number eight, with a large terrace for enjoying the superb views that exist across the river in Prague and from where you can see also the famous castle. The design of this magnificent and unique, could only be designed by an artist without equal, the Canadian-born American architect Frank O. Gehry, who has been described recently as "the greatest architect of our era" and was awarded the prestigious Pritzker Prize (Novel of Architecture) in 1989.
