Seri Wawasan Bridge, Putrajaya, Malaysia, 2000-2003

Situado en la ciudad de Putrajaya, que se encuentra localizada a unos 36 kilómetros al sur de Kuala Lumpur donde se erigen las famosas Torres Petronas diseño de César Pelli, el Seri Wawasan Bridge se erige espléndido como un símbolo indudable de modernidad y progreso que viene a revitalizar una “Ciudad Jardín Inteligente” gracias al rápido crecimiento económico alcanzado por este tigre asiático después de una importante Comisión que tuvo lugar a comienzos de los años 1990. La ciudad de Putrajaya, que esta situada en una isla rodeada por un gran lago artificial, no sólo es la capital administrativa de Malasia, sino que además, aparte de ser un importante sitio turístico para la propia Kuala Lumpur, es conocida mundialmente por contar con una bellísima colección de modernos puentes realmente innovadores que ofrecen acceso y comunicación con dicha isla.



El carácter futurista de este interesante puente atirantado se pone de manifiesto en su diseño gracias a los dos tirantes estabilizadores curvos que le confieren gran estabilidad al tablero; estos dos arcos, que también sustentan gran parte del peso del pilón de contrapeso, convierten a este puente en único en el mundo. El diseño de su creador, Michael Yomout y que está inspirado en la vela de un barco, ofrece distintas visiones del mismo en función del punto de vista desde el que se mire a lo largo del lago, ya que, por ejemplo, da la sensación que desde lejos también simule a la figura de un esquiador de saltos en pleno vuelo con su característico pilón inclinado 75º hacia adelante y 96 metros de altura final; también, de noche y a nivel del propio tablero y gracias a la iluminación artificial, el Seri Wawasan Bridge ofrece la visión de estar contemplando ante nuestros ojos a un auténtico alienígena venido de otro planeta.



El pilón inclinado hacia adelante hace la función de contrapeso soportando gran parte del peso del tablero. No obstante, son 30 pares de cables atirantados los que se anclan desde el propio pilón inclinado a la cubierta del tablero en ambos extremos; detrás del pilón se sitúan otros cuatro pares de 21 cables atirantados en abanico que se anclan a los arcos y también fuera del tablero en una cimentación de forma curva en ambos extremos. La cubierta está formada por una viga cajón que contiene dos calzadas de 11.5 metros de ancho cada una, donde se han dispuesto 3 carriles para cada sentido de tráfico rodado; además, el tablero cuenta con una mediana de 4 metros de ancho y dos carriles bici y peatonal en ambos extremos. El Seri Wawasan Bridge, por su diseño y vanguardia, se ha convertido en uno de los puentes más modernos y bellos del mundo; no en vano, a recibido varios reconocimientos internacionales importantes.

Located in the city of Putrajaya, which is located about 36 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur where he erected the famous Petronas Twin Towers design Cesar Pelli, the Seri Wawas splendid Bridge stands as a symbol of modernity and progress doubt that comes to revitalize an "Intelligent Garden City" thanks to rapid economic growth achieved by the Asian tiger after an important Committee which took place in early 1990. The design of its creator, Michael Yomout and inspired by the sail of a boat, it offers different views depending on the point of view from which to look, since, for example, gives the impression that from a distance also simulate the figure of a skier jumps in flight with its distinctive pylon tilted 75 ° forward and 96 meters final, also at night and at the home board and thanks to artificial lighting, the Seri Wawas Bridge offers a vision of be looking at our eyes to a real alien from another planet.



The pylon leaning forward makes the role of counterweight bearing much of the weight of the board. However, there are 30 pairs of stay cables that are anchored from within the pylon inclined to cover the board at both ends of the pylon is located behind four pairs of stay cables in a fan 21 that are anchored to the arches and outside board on a solid, curved at both ends. The cover consists of a box girder containing two lanes of 11.5 meters wide each, which are arranged 3 lanes for each direction of traffic, in addition, the board has a median of 4 meters wide and two bicycle lanes and pedestrian traffic at both ends. El prestigioso arquitecto César Pelli se inspiraba en los motivos tradicionales del arte islámico para diseñar estas majestuosas torres localizadas en la ciudad de Kuala Lumpur, Malasia. La forma de cada planta está compuesta por la figura de dos cuadrados entrelazados con un círculo concéntrico, que unidos, forman el perímetro de cada torre. La Torre 1 es la Sede Petronas y en la Torre 2 se encuentra el Club de Malasia. Las enormes fachadas están revestidas por nada menos que 65000 m² de acero inoxidable y 67000 m² de vidrio. Desde el piso 29 arrancan cuatro apoyos inclinados de acero con forma de v invertida de 51 metros de longitud total, que soportan el peso del “Skybridge” (Puente del Cielo). Este puente, que se encuentra situado a 170 metros de altura, une la torre 1 y 2 desde los pisos 41 y 42, no sólo para facilitar el movimiento a los usuarios del edificio, sino para ofrecer un servicio de emergencia o posible incendio.

Los rascacielos están dotados de un sistema inteligente de ordenadores que hacen de las torres unas de las más seguras del mundo. Además, cada torre está equipada con 29 ascensores de dos plantas que suben a una velocidad de entre 3.5 y 6 metros por segundo. Los dos pináculos gemelos que coronan las agujas y que están hechos de acero estructural, tienen 73.5 metros de altura cada uno; cada pináculo pesa nada menos que 176 toneladas y hacen de estas bellas torres todo un símbolo de Malasia. La famosas Torres Petronas fueron las más altas del mundo entre 1998 y 2003, hasta que terminó la construcción de la Torre de Taipei en la isla de Taiwán, el 17 de octubre de 2003.

The renowned architect César Pelli was inspired by traditional motifs of Islamic art to design these majestic towers located in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The shape of each plant is composed of the figure of two interlocking squares with a concentric circle, which together form the perimeter of each tower. Tower 1 is the Headquarters and Petronas Tower 2 is the Club of Malaysia. The massive walls are lined with no less than 65000 m² to 67,000 m² stainless steel and glass. From the 29th floor four supports inclined tear steel inverted V-shaped 51 meters in length, that bear the brunt of the "Skybridge" (Bridge of Heaven). This bridge, which is situated at 170 meters, connects the Tower 1 and 2 from the floors 41 and 42, not only to facilitate the movement of the building users, but to provide an emergency service or possible fire.

The skyscrapers are equipped with an intelligent system of computers that make the towers a few of the safest in the world.
