La CN Tower (Torre Nacional de Canadá), se encuentra localizada en la orilla norte del lago Ontario y en el centro de la ciudad de Toronto. La empresa Canadian National Railway encargaba el diseño de una torre de telecomunicaciones lo suficientemente alta como para solucionar los problemas de comunicaciones que habían ocasionado la construcción de numerosos rascacielos en la ciudad desde la época de los años 60. La torre cuenta con dos grandes plataformas de observación. El Skypod consta de tres niveles; a 342 metros de altura se sitúa una plataforma de observación al aire libre y una parte interior con un piso de vidrio; a 346 metros de altura hay otra plataforma interior; a 351 metros se encuentra el restaurante mirador que hace una rotación completa de 360 grados cada 72 minutos. La otra gran plataforma se sitúa a 447 metros y se llama espacio Beck.
La famosa Torre cuenta con seis ascensores que ascienden a una velocidad de 22 Km./h., por lo que tardan aproximadamente un minuto en subir hasta la plataforma del Skypod. El enorme pilar que se eleva hasta las dos grandes plataformas está compuesto por 40522 m³ de hormigón reforzado con 5080 toneladas de acero que soportan una tolerancia a los fuertes vientos de hasta 420 Km./h.; todo ello hace que el peso aproximado de la torre se estime en nada menos que 132080 toneladas. Con un presupuesto de $CDN 63 millones, es la torre más alta perteneciente a la Federación Mundial de Grandes Torres. Desde las dos grandes plataformas de observación se divisa una vista panorámica de toda la ciudad. Gracias a esta enorme torre de telecomunicaciones, la ciudad de Toronto ofrece uno de los skyline más bonitos del mundo.

The CN Tower (Canadian National Tower), is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario and the downtown Toronto. Canadian National Railway Company commissioned the design of a telecommunications tower high enough to solve the communications problems that had led to the construction of many skyscrapers in the city since the days of the 60s. The tower has two large observational platforms. The Skypod has three levels, to 342 meters high observation platform located outdoors and inside with a glass floor, at 346 meters there is another inner platform; to 351 meters the belvedere restaurant makes a full 360 degree rotation every 72 minutes. The other great platform is located at 447 meters and is called Beck space.
The famous tower has six elevators that ascend at a speed of 22 km / h, so it takes about a minute to climb the platform of the Skypod. The huge pillar that rises to the two major platforms consists of 40,522 m³ of reinforced concrete with 5080 tons of steel that support a tolerance to the strong winds of up to 420 km / h, all of this means that the approximate weight of the tower is estimated at no less than 132,080 tons. With a budget of $ CDN 63 million, is the tallest tower belonging to the World Federation of Great Towers. Since the two main observation decks can see a panoramic view of the entire city.
